    Citizen Services

    The Department of Public Expenditure is exploring AI chatbots and automated processing for routine citizen queries, freeing up staff for more complex cases. MyGovID integration with AI-powered verification systems is also being tested.

    The Skills Gap

    A key challenge is finding civil servants with AI skills. The government has partnered with training providers to offer AI literacy programmes to public sector workers, recognising that technology alone isn't enough — people need to understand how to use it responsibly.
