Enterprise Ireland Launches AI Adoption Fund for SMEs
Enterprise Ireland has announced a new AI Adoption Fund designed to help small and medium enterprises integrate artificial intelligence into their operations. The fund covers technology investment, consultancy, and — crucially — staff training and certification.
What's Covered
The fund provides grants of up to €50,000 per company for AI adoption projects. This includes up to €15,000 specifically for staff upskilling and certification in AI. Companies can use this funding toward recognised AI training programmes from approved providers.
Why This Matters
For SMEs that have been hesitant about AI adoption due to cost concerns, this fund removes a major barrier. The inclusion of training funding recognises that AI tools are only as effective as the people using them.
How to Apply
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through Enterprise Ireland's online portal. Companies must demonstrate a clear AI adoption plan and identify specific training needs for their staff. Working with certified training providers strengthens applications.
Approved Training Providers
Enterprise Ireland maintains a list of approved AI training providers. Programmes from AI Certified, UCD Smurfit, and IBM are among those eligible for funding support.
